Winter Hours Start November 1

The leaves are turning and the evenings are cooling off in downtown Prescott. That does not mean the golf carts are going into storage. Ghost Riders is still available year-round — the same puzzle ride through Whiskey Row and Courthouse Plaza. It will not necessarily be after dark once the days get short, so check the website for current departure times when you book. And here is the better news: the Live Game of Clue is no longer limited to October. It will now be offered year-round as well.

Both rides still leave from The Puzzle Shop on Montezuma Street. You still get a Puzzlemaster, a golf cart, and a set of clues that use the actual streets. The only change is the calendar. You no longer have to wait for a special month to book Clue, and you do not have to stop booking Ghost Riders when the temperature drops.

The Puzzle Shop itself is open all year, right in the middle of Whiskey Row. It is a good place to do your holiday shopping — puzzles, games, and brain teasers you can try before you buy — whether or not you are booking a ride that day.

Winter does change the hours for the rides. It gets cold after dark in Prescott, and it can be wet or snowy. We adjust the schedule so the rides stay comfortable. Check the website for current hours when you book so you are not surprised by an earlier last departure.

Then there is the short, bright stretch that only happens once a year. Starting November 1, you can book Sleigh Rides. The rides themselves do not begin until after the Courthouse Lighting, and they only run for about three weeks. It is a 30-minute loop around Courthouse Plaza and the surrounding streets, looking at the Christmas lights. We provide hot cocoa, and the carts come with free blankets and robes. It is not a puzzle ride. It is a slow, warm ride through the lights shared with the people you enjoy.

Those three weeks fill quickly. If you want a Sleigh Ride, book it when the calendar opens on November 1 rather than waiting until the lights are already on.

Also watch the website for the Hijacked by Elves At-Home Escape Room Kit. It is only offered in Prescott.

Ghost Riders and the Live Game of Clue are the rides you can plan any time. Sleigh Rides are the ones you plan now, for a narrow window after the lighting. Either way, winter in Prescott still has a golf cart in it. Check the site for winter hours and available dates, and book before the short season is gone.

Pro Tip! Don’t forget to add photos to your order when you book! It is a small add-on, priced by the ride, and you can download and print as many as you want.

Next week we will have all the details on this year’s Scottsdale holiday Puzzle Rides offerings.
